COOK IT FROZEN! ALASKA CRAB

Alaska Crab is already fully cooked but should be heated-through before serving. Cook until the internal temperature of the crab reaches 145ºF (use an instant-read thermometer and test crab in the shoulder section).

The following COOK IT FROZEN! techniques will result in moist, delicious crab.

Alaska King Crab legs:
(average weight 6 to 8 oz.)

  • BAKE frozen legs at 450ºF for approximately 8 to 10 minutes.
  • BROIL frozen legs on HIGH heat, about 7 inches from the heat source, for approximately 6 to 8 minutes.
  • BOIL frozen legs over simmering heat, covered, for approximately 6 to 8 minutes.
  • STEAM frozen legs, covered, for approximately 6 to 8 minutes.
  • GRILL frozen legs, in closed foil packet, about 5 inches from the heat source, over medium-high heat (450ºF) for approximately 8 to 10 minutes.

Alaska Snow Crab clusters:
(average weight 8 to 10 oz.)

  • BAKE frozen clusters at 450ºF for approximately 12 to 15 minutes.
  • BROIL frozen clusters on HIGH heat, about 7 inches from the heat source, for approximately 5 to 7 minutes.
  • BOIL frozen clusters over simmering heat, covered, for approximately 3 to 5 minutes.
